It just makes me mad.8% of the country doesnt celebrate Christmas. So now all of the stores is gonna make that 8% happy but make almost all of the 90% not happy. It is just making mad what the world is coming to over offending people...GRRR!!!The only way you cant offend people is by walking around with you head down and not talking to anyone.Well you will run into people and the you will offend them...Its impossible...And I hate how people try so hard not to offend people

Eh, well some people are offended no matter what you say. They're just jerks..
Anyways, we say happy holidays this time of year rather than during other holidays because there's SO many celebrations going on during this time! What are you supposed to say? Merry Christmas, Happy Hannakuh Joyus Kwanzaa Oh, and it's almost yom kippur! ...and don't forget new years New Years Eve.. Boxing Day..
The list goes on. Instead of saying all of those, Happy Holidays works for everyone.

If you say Merry Christmas and someone is jewish I dont think they would care. They know most of the people in this country celebrate Christmas. If someone said to me Happy Hannukuh I wouldnt care,I would just say Merry Christmas back.We have been saying Merry Christmas for many years, its not right to change it now.Its like taking Christmas dinner out of Christmas cause some people dont like eating alot.It just doesnt make sense

Haha, true. Which is where we started--who cares what they are celebrating, Merry Christmas works fine! Except going around saying "Happy Birthday Jesus" might be a little wierd..

Haha, yeah, some people are named Jesus, though.. Maybe they were born on Christmas too. That would kinda suck..you wouldn't get as many presents. But that's not what it's about, right?

I can understand why some people are offended by it, though. This is America, we can practice any religion we choose. This shouldn't mean that Christians get the leading rein in all of the Holiday sayings. I also don't understand why you're not offended when someone says Merry Christmas, but it seems like you don't like it when they say Happy Holidays. I mean, it is like "holy-days", right? Eh, oh welll... bustedupcowgirl.com/holidays.gif

The reason is that only 8% of Americans DONT celebrate Christmas. So all of the businesses in America are gonna try to be non-offencive to the 8% when really most of the other 92% is getting mad.It just doesnt make sense.
Another thing is it is taking Christ out of the Holidays.Specificly Christmas.Even Jewish people believe there is a Christ, just because they dont celebrate Christmas doesnt mean they should make all of us and more importanlty God upset by taking out the reason for the season

Exactly--this is AMERICA. Even though many people are Christians, Christians can't be favored.
I know plenty of Jewish people. They don't care what you say to them, Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas, Happy Hannuka, etc. There's no "group" to blame here. If you're looking to blame someone, just blame the government, or more specificly the ACLU. We learned it in Social Studies..

Yes this is America so we have a right to say w/e we want. And we have a right to be mad at people who take Christ out of the season. If I was looking to blame someone I already know who I would blame.I dont care whos fault it is.Its satans fault. He loves to keep Jesus out of everything

...alright, then.
Satan does not come around and walk up to people and go, "Happy Holidays, not Merry Christmas."
Besides, I don't believe in Satan.
