Thanks Well what I meant is that whenever I say I am a Catholic and a Christian people are always like, "well, those aren't the same things". Christians aren't a religion, they are people who believe in Jesus Christ, which I do. I am also a Catholic because I beleive in God, and whatever else Catholics believe in.

haha...that made me laugh when you said "and w/e else they believe in"...its probably not how you meant it,it just sounded funny.Ok I believe you can be a Christian and Catholic. But yes, christianity is a relationship and Catholism(however you say it)is a religion. You can be both,I was just asking people if they thought that catholics automatically were christians just because of there religion.I wasnt aiming this at you either, you werent even a member when I made the topic.but now we can really debate...haha...FUN!!!

I'm just curious, even though we're both Christians, we seem to disagree a lot about our beliefs, but they're the same thing, right? So, what do you believe in, exactly?

well i believe that you have to have a personal relationship with god to get to heaven and you cant get to heaven by doing good works i mean if you are a christian you should try pleasing God by doing good works and praying and reading the bible and stuff but you DONT have to do good works to get into heaven and if you sin then you can ask god to forgive you and you will still beable to go to heaven and i believe that if you murder someone and then repent about it and really mean that you are sorry then you will still beable to go to heaven cause all sin's are the same in God's eyes and i dont believe that all catholics are christians i mean yes they can be christians but just cause you are catholic doesnt make you a christian(i am not pointing this at anybody)well that goes for any religion acctually...haha and thats what i believe and i could go on and on but i wont...haha cause then it will be really long(even though it already is)

I'm a Catholic, but I believe in Jesus, too (which Catholics beleive in) so technically, it makes me a Christian, too. (It's not like I think Hannakah is a cool relgion, that wouldn't make me Jewish, would it?) I'm not really religiously oriented at all. The only thing I do is go to Relgious Education, only because it's mandatory. Yes, I pray and read the Bible, I'm completing some of the sacrements, but maybe I'm just not going to be as religious as all of you.
Okay, so I believe: -You can get into heaven by doing good works and having a relationship with God. But I'm not God, so maybe just that won't get me into heaven. I'd like to think it would, though. -If you sin, you can repent, but you've still sinned. If you've killed someone and repented, you've still killed someone. Maybe your chances of getting into heaven will be slimmer. - Actually...I'm not quite sure what else I believe. I believe in God, Jesus, and stuff, but I don't know that much about it.

so do you think that if you dont have a personal relationship with god and do good works that you will go to heaven?aanndd if you believe in god and have a personal relationship with him then you will go to heaven no matter what if you kill someone and repent then you still go to heaven for sure.once you have exepted jesus into your heart then you automatically go to heaven even if you sin cause you will try to do everything pleasing to God!so i belive oncce you have a personal relationship with God that you will go to heaven for sure when you die it even says in the bible john 3:16 for God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son THAT WHOEVER BELIEVES IN ME WILL NOT PERISH BUT HAVE EVERLSTING LIFE.so right there it says that if you believe in him that you will have everlasting life

OK I believe that the only way into to heaven is through Jesus Christ God's son.You have to make Him Lord of your life and put Him above everything else.I dont think good works will get you into heaven. We should try to follow Gods commandments and obey the laws to please God AND be an example to other people that we are different cause Jesus is in our hearts,so then they will see Gods light shining through us so they will want what we have.I dont think you hvae to read the bible or pray to get to heaven, but if you are a true christian than I think you would want to,God commands us to.I dont pray and read my bible everyday,I try to but sometimes I forget or I am to tired.God isnt gonna not let me into heaven just cause I didnt read my bible. We all sin,but all sin is the same in Gods eyes, some sins have bigger consequences than others, for example;IF you kill someone you will go to jail for life or be put to death. If you steal a piece of gum from the store you will have to bring it back and get grounded. Both you have to ask Gods forgiveness and pay the consequences but God sees the heart of each of us,so He knows if we are sincere.I also believe that you can have a relationship with God,but that doesnt make you a christian. Its like when you have a relationship with a person, that doesnt make you their friend,it makes you an aquaintence. So you can have a relationship with God but that doesnt automatically mean you have asked Him in your heart.None of us are good enough to get into heaven, that is why God sent His son to die for us.He took our sins on the cross for US.The people who treated Him like dirt and beat Him and denied knowing Him.He took our sins so we can be in heaven one day,He suffered so we can have a wonderful life when we die.And think that He did that and people still deny Him and His gift.He is giving anyone the gift of eternal life, saving them from the lake of fire, but some people reject Him.He died for all of us but some people dont want what He did for us.ok I am soory for making this so long, and excuse my spelling...haha.I have more to say but I will save it for later

LONG posts, everyone! Haha, but they're interesting. I've changed my mind (yes, I'm not even kidding). There's no real way to determine how to get into heaven. Do what you think is right, and the rest is up to God. Haha, sound good?

Yes, you can try as hard as you possibly can to get into heaven, but that doesn't mean you're going to go there. In the end, how well of a realtionship or how many good deeds you have done does not matter, and it's up to God to choose.
